Our identity
A movement, not a mailing list
HAZE Music for Youth Empowerment (HazeYouth) is a youth-led nonprofit founded in 2021 to enable young people aged 15–35 to drive change. We work with young people in and out of school, amplifying their voices, challenging stereotypes and using creativity — especially music — as a catalyst for well-being and social transformation.
Why we exist
Rewriting the narrative about young people
Lazy. Entitled. Distracted. The dominant stereotype is convenient for everyone except the people it describes.
HazeYouth was founded in 2021 in Kampala to challenge that narrative. We work with young people in and out of school, enabling them to amplify their voices and to exercise choice over their own lives.
We use the arts — especially music — to foster positive self-expression and catalyse social change. A verse is allowed to be dramatic where a confession is not, and that makes music one of the most effective doorways into well-being work we have found.
We are not a clinical service. We hold space, we build skills, and we refer to professionals when that is what a young person needs.

Mission
To enable young people aged 15–35 to drive change — through creativity, well-being and unapologetic self-expression.
Vision
A generation that is heard, healthy and trusted with the future of its own community.
What we hold to
Our values
Youth-led, not youth-themed
Every director is young. Decisions are made by the people who carry the consequences.
Well-being before output
No achievement is worth a young person's mental health. Safety is the first deliverable.
Creativity as evidence
Music, writing and performance are not extras. They are how a generation documents itself.
Accountable by design
Transparent stewardship of resources, and research that keeps us honest about impact.
Leadership
The young visionaries behind HazeYouth
Our driving force is a cadre of dynamic young professionals who form the backbone of our workforce and shape our strategic direction.

Pierre Ntango
Chairperson & Founding Executive Director
I leverage my youthful perspective to advocate for transformational leadership in an organisation that boldly challenges existing stereotypes about young people. As an artist, I collaborate with my peers to build empowering narratives and identities.

I shape and amplify HazeYouth's brand identity through strategic communications, and develop partnerships with members, beneficiary institutions and donors.

Luc Muhizi
Founder Director — Digital Technology & Research
I use digital technology as a catalyst for change, providing a secure environment where young innovators can share ideas and bring them to life.

Marthe Nsaba
Founder Director — Finance & Operations
I safeguard the financial and operational well-being of HazeYouth: legal compliance, transparent management of resources and strong relationships with donors and service providers.
Strive for more. Stand together.
If you are 15–35 and ready to be part of something bigger, there is a place for you at HazeYouth.
